Q. When did this message board start?
A. I think the original "Chris' Suzuki TL1000R Message Board" started back in 1998 and was located at InsideTheWeb (ITW). It was started by Chris Young from Alabama. Chris' home page is located here: TL1000R Home Page. We can't thank Chris enough for the original concept.
Q. Why did the board have to move?
A. We received notice in February 2001 that ITW, line many other Dot.com businesses would be closing its doors.
Q. Why Voy.com?
A. Voy.com has the closest look-and-feel to Chris' old message board. We have to thank Glen from Texas for locating this alternate site.
Q. Were other options considered?
A. Yes, one thing I can say is all the users banned together and decided that we had to find a solution quick, before the ITW board closed so we wouldn't loose touch with everyone. Chris from Seattle started a new EZBoard linked to "The Ultimate TL Gallery" and I already had an EZBoard "TL Owners Board (TLOB)". The problem was which to use so everyone would be on the same page. I created a voting booth, but the ultimate feeling was we needed a message board with the same format as Chris' old board. Glen found the Voy.com site and one look confirmed that it was to be our new home. While the format is not EXACTLY like Chris' old board, it is very close. I talked with Glen and he told me he didn't have time to administer it. I told Glen I would love to administer it bur first I would offer it to Chris Young. Chris told me that he didn't frequent the board as much, and told me to have at it.
Q. Are the other boards closing?
A. I can't speak for Chris in Seattle, but the TL Owners Board has been around for a long time and I have no intention of closing it. The format is completely different. Some people prefer it. Think of it this way. This message board is more like a bunch of buddies standing around in the paddock shooting the breeze. The EZBoard site is more like a town council meeting with a structured format. The TLOB is much better for posting For Sale and Wanted items, FAQ's, etc.
Q. Are there RULES we have to follow?
Yes, <CLICK HERE>
Q. Isn't this a Free Country?
Yes, it's still a free country. Though this message board is my house. I know some of you need to express yourself. For that please visit the TL1000 UNPLUGGED message board. No rules!
